Aryna Sabalenka is the Miami Open champion, having completed the Sunshine Double just weeks after winning Indian Wells.

It marked the culmination of a sensational month for the world number one, who enjoyed some incredible moments both on and off the court.

However, Aryna Sabalenka will be keen not to rest on her laurels with the clay-court season now right around the corner.

Ironically, after winning Miami, she now has the chance to accomplish a feat that has never been managed before in women’s tennis history. She will just have to wait until the matches on clay have concluded to achieve this.

Aryna Sabalenka could be about to make tennis history

As shared by Bastien Fachan on X, he explained how Sabalenka can potentially make tennis history in the coming months.

However, the opportunity will not arise until she returns to Cincinnati, where she is a former champion.

How many Grand Slams will Aryna Sabalenka win this year?

She looks unstoppable right now!

He explained how no woman has ever held all four major American tennis tournaments simultaneously, with those events being Indian Wells, Miami, Cincinnati and the US Open.

With the first two won this year already, and the New York Grand Slam claimed at the back-end of 2025, Sabalenka now only needs to win the Cincinnati Open to become a history-maker, as the first to ever manage such an incredible and unique feat.

Aryna Sabalenka needs to turn her dominance into Grand Slam titles

Whilst WTA titles are always celebrated, particularly at the 1000 level, Sabalenka will know that her record in Grand Slam finals is not good enough.

And, whilst tennis is far more nuanced, major titles do define a player’s legacy.

The Belarusian has been the dominant force on the WTA Tour for years now, yet has just four Grand Slam titles to show for it despite reaching eight finals and a further six semi-finals.

She needs to start converting her deep runs into elite trophies to truly establish herself as the tennis legend that she is.

Already, Sabalenka will go down in history as one of the greatest players of her generation.

However, if she can fix whatever is preventing her from continuing her domination into major finals, the 27-year-old could end her career being recognised as one of the greatest players of all time.

With the work rate, incredible talent and brutal power she possesses, this is the least she should expect from herself.

Fortunately, Sabalenka has explained the change she made after her recent Australian Open defeat, which could prove to be a catalyst for further dominance.
