The Italian returned to form after failing to win either of his first two tournaments this year, the Australian Open and Qatar Open.

Former world number one Andy Roddick has now shared his thoughts on Sinner’s latest triumph.

Andy Roddick says Jannik Sinner has made a ‘clear improvement’ on serve recently

“If you look at the serving statistics from the US Open and later from last year, there is a very clear statistical improvement on first serve percentage and first serve points won.

“When you are holding at a 92% clip, and all of a sudden go up to 94, that is absurd.

“When you return that well, and this is with a ‘slow start’ to the year.

“If he serves like this on a hard court, I think he’s tough to beat.

“He gave Carlos some daylight in the US Open final with some second serves, but whatever they did to adjust, I am going full buy on that one.”

If he can keep it up, the Italian will be a big favourite to reclaim his US Open title this fall.

But on clay, he’s not quite so invincible.

Sinner has only won one career title on clay, a surface that reduces the effectiveness of big servers.

Will he be able to adjust and continue his dominant streak on clay? Only time will tell.

Sinner is scheduled to play his first clay-court event of the year at the Monte-Carlo Masters, which begins on Monday, April 6.
