Jannik Sinner recently completed the ‘Sunshine Double’, winning Indian Wells and the Miami Open.
He did so without dropping a set, as Jannik Sinner extended his remarkable Masters 1000 record.
The Italian returned to form after failing to win either of his first two tournaments this year, the Australian Open and Qatar Open.
Is Jannik Sinner now the best server on the ATP Tour?
He won 18 points in a row on serve vs Jiri Lehecka…
Former world number one Andy Roddick has now shared his thoughts on Sinner’s latest triumph.
Andy Roddick says Jannik Sinner has made a ‘clear improvement’ on serve recently
During the latest episode of ‘Served with Andy Roddick‘, the 43-year-old made the following statement.
“It’s weird to look at someone like [Jannik] Sinner and go, I think he has improved since last year,” he said.

“If you look at the serving statistics from the US Open and later from last year, there is a very clear statistical improvement on first serve percentage and first serve points won.

“If he serves like this on a hard court, I think he’s tough to beat.
“He gave Carlos some daylight in the US Open final with some second serves, but whatever they did to adjust, I am going full buy on that one.”
2025 US Open final – Match stats

| Aces | 10 | 2 |

Last year’s US Open final will be best remembered for two contrasting serving performances.
While Alcaraz excelled, Sinner struggled, hitting just 48% of his first serves on his way to a four-set defeat.

On current form, it’s hard to imagine Sinner returning to such a low.
If he can keep it up, the Italian will be a big favourite to reclaim his US Open title this fall.

But on clay, he’s not quite so invincible.
Sinner has only won one career title on clay, a surface that reduces the effectiveness of big servers.
Will he be able to adjust and continue his dominant streak on clay? Only time will tell.
Sinner is scheduled to play his first clay-court event of the year at the Monte-Carlo Masters, which begins on Monday, April 6.
