Jannik Sinner won Indian Wells and the Miami Open this month.

In doing so, Sinner became the eighth man to complete the ‘Sunshine Double’.

The Italian was a level above the field at the first two Masters 1000 events of the year, winning both titles without dropping a set.

Is Jannik Sinner now the best server on the ATP Tour?

He won 18 points in a row on serve vs Jiri Lehecka…

A feat that has now been described as ‘incomprehensible’ by former ATP pro Steve Johnson.

Steve Johnson says Jannik Sinner’s recent form is ‘absolutely insane’

During the latest episode of ‘Nothing Major‘, Johnson delivered his verdict on Sinner’s perfect March.

“It cannot go understated his dominance the last month,” said Johnson.

“34 straight sets, whatever the number is.

“That is absolutely insane.

“Not to have one five-minute walkabout mentally, have one bad service game to cost you a set, to get to a breaker and shank two forehands.

“It is absolutely insane, the level that he is able to get to. I think it was really impressive. There are really no other words to say.”

The 36-year-old believes Sinner and his biggest rival, Carlos Alcaraz, are a step ahead of their ATP Tour rivals.

“We have two guys in Carlos [Alcaraz] and Jannik [Sinner] who are better than everyone else, and when one guy stumbles, the other guy just does not skip a beat,” said Johnson.

“There have only been a couple of times where both guys have been in the tournament over the last two or three years where they have not won it.”

“These guys are absolutely dominant.”

Johnson was particularly impressed by Sinner’s level at the Masters 1000 events in America, and understandably so!

“Sinner, from start to finish, from Indian Wells to Miami now,” he said.

“I can’t say I have never seen anything like it, but to go through the Sunshine Double, to be only the eighth man to do it, and to do it without losing a set is incomprehensible to some degree.”

Sinner’s form certainly deserves recognition, as he continues to impress at the Masters 1000 level…

Jannik Sinner edges closer to matching Carlos Alcaraz at Masters 1000s

After last year’s Cincinnati Open, Alcaraz led Sinner 8-5 in Masters 1000 wins.

Fast forward seven months, and the Italian is just one away from his Spanish rival.

With momentum on his side, Sinner will be keen to move level with Alcaraz next month, when the pair return to Masters 1000 action in Monte-Carlo.

Sinner was forced to miss last year’s Monte-Carlo Masters due to suspension, as Alcaraz lifted his first title in the principality.

Providing neither player withdraws, they will travel to Monte-Carlo as the top-two seeds and title favorites this time around.

Only time will tell who will emerge victorious on the clay, but you certainly won’t want to miss any of the action.

The 2026 Monte-Carlo Masters begins on Monday, April 6.
