Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner have been far and away the best players on the ATP Tour this season.
The two men have shared the last eight Grand Slams, and they have met in several Masters finals across 2025.
Sinner and Alcaraz met in six ATP finals this season, with the Spaniard managing to win the head-to-head with four victories.
While every other player on the ATP Tour looks miles off the pace when it comes to challenging Alcaraz and Sinner, Andrey Rublev has explained what makes them so hard to compete against.

Andrey Rublev praises Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz
Speaking at the UTS Grand Final, Rublev said: “Carlos and Jannik are obviously way ahead of all of the rest of the players, that’s it. For me, they are just playing tennis.
“They are not playing with fear or hoping for the other guy to miss. They just play tennis, do the same thing and it doesn’t matter the score of the player. That’s the difference with everyone else, in my opinion.”
Despite his praise for the two best players in the world currently, he believes they simply cannot be compared to Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.
Who do you think will win more Grand Slam titles in 2026?
The Russian star explained: “Roger and Rafa played when it was a different time and in different conditions.
“Tennis is now more modern and the courts are changing, the balls are changing. They are not the same as before, so you cannot compare. It’s different conditions.”
Rublev dropped out of the top 10 this season after a disappointing run, which included a four-match losing streak following the US Open.
Andrey Rublev’s record against Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner
Rublev has a better record than most of the top 10 when it comes to playing Sinner and Alcaraz on the ATP Tour.
While the likes of Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur are yet to taste success against the two men, Rublev has notched up a number of victories.
Rublev has defeated Sinner on three occasions since their first meeting in 2020, including at the Vienna Open and Roland Garros.
Rublev’s last victory against Sinner came on a hard court at the Canadian Open, where the Russian overcame the Italian in three sets to knock him out of the quarter-finals.
The Russian fares worse against Alcaraz, having only beaten the world number one on one occasion in their five meetings.
Rublev’s sole win came in the Madrid Open quarterfinal, as the star managed to beat Alcaraz in three sets on the Spanish clay.
