Amanda Anisimova has revealed her plans post-US Open after an exceptionally successful summer.
Anisimova lost to Aryna Sabalenka in the US Open final after defeating the likes of Naomi Osaka and Iga Swiatek at Flushing Meadows.
The run to the final came shortly after the star reached her first Grand Slam final at Wimbledon, which ended with a heartbreaking double bagel for the American.
Anisimova is not the first two-time Grand Slam final loser, and it surely won’t be long before the American captures a major trophy.
After the US Open, the star has revealed her plans to skip the 2025 Korea Open.

Amanda Anisimova is ‘sad’ to miss the Korean Open after US Open final
Anisimova’s deep run to the last two Grand Slam finals has seen the American play an incredible amount of tennis, and it will see her skip the first tournament of the WTA’s Asian leg.
Emma Raducanu has received a Korea Open wild card and the likes of Swiatek and Barbora Krejčíková will also play.
Anisimova, however, will not as she revealed in a heartfelt social media post five days before the event is set to get underway.
“I’m so sad to miss Korea this year, as I really enjoyed my time there last year,” said the Wimbledon and US Open finalist via her Instagram Stories.
“I really hope to be back next year,” the new World No. 4 added. “So sorry and see you guys soon.”
Anisimova defeated Yulia Putintseva in the first round of the 2024 Korea Open, but fell to Viktoriya Tomova due to retirement in the second set.
What Amanda Anisimova said after US Open final defeat
Anisimova’s second Grand Slam loss in as many tournaments is tough to take, but she was gracious as ever in defeat.
“Losing in two finals in a row is super hard,” said Anisimova. “I think I didn’t fight hard enough for my dreams today.”
“It has been an incredible fortnight,” the American added. “I love playing here and it has been a dream to play in the final of the US Open.”
It is unclear when the American will return to the sport, but the star is currently ranked in the top eight of the rankings, meaning she’ll qualify to play the WTA Tour Finals.
