Various WTA players have moved up and down the rankings following last week’s play across Asia.

Last week, Leylah Fernandez and Elena Rybakina emerged victorious from their respective competitions, winning the Japan Open and Ningbo Open.

Rybakina could be set to challenge for Grand Slam titles again after her latest triumph, while Fernandez is certainly a player to keep a close eye on for 2026.

However, despite both rising in the rankings, neither of these players achieved a career-high. Rybakina moved from ninth to seventh, while Fernandez has moved from 27th to 22nd.

Maya Joint

Despite failing to win a singles match at the Ningbo Open, young Australian star Maya Joint has moved up in the WTA rankings.

Joint lost to Alja Tomljanovic in the first round of Ningbo Open qualification, losing the contest 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.
