Alexander Zverev has revealed details of a new injury following his loss to Taylor Fritz at the Six Kings Slam.
Zverev’s tennis woes continued at the Saudi Arabia exhibition event as he lost in straight sets to the American.
Fritz’s victory was his seventh in a row against Zverev and 10th overall as the American continues to be the World No. 3’s bogey player.
Following the loss to Fritz, Zverev shared details of a new injury which could rule him out of upcoming tournaments.

Alexander Zverev shares brand-new injury concern
Zverev has suffered from a variety of injuries in the latter end of the season, including issues with his back and toe.
The demand of the gruelling ATP Tour season has hit Zverev yet again and he’s confirmed details of another injury.
“This year has been difficult physically; I’ve had a lot of problems, a lot of injuries. Unfortunately, I have another one today,” said Zverev in his press conference after losing to Fritz.
“I had this [shoulder injury] problem today, which was unfortunate because I’d been training really well the last few days. It happened during the warm-up, so it was a bit unlucky for me.”
The World No. 3 did not reveal whether it would keep him out of the remaining tournaments in 2025, but there’s every chance Zverev could end his season early.
“Now I have to discuss with my team and physiotherapist exactly what we need to do and how long it will take,” said Zverev. “Tennis is a brutal, demanding sport, and our bodies go through many changes.”
Zverev would be expected to play the Paris Masters and the ATP Finals, but both of those events could be in question now.
Ending his season early could be a blessing in disguise for Alexander Zverev
Zverev should use this latest injury setback as the sign he needs to take an extended break from the sport.
Despite retaining his ranking inside the top five, Zverev has suffered a myriad of unfortunate losses and setbacks in 2025.
The star looked distraught as he crashed out of the Wimbledon first round and he confirmed he got ‘professional help’ after the shock result.
Disappointing losses have followed for Zverev at the Laver Cup and the ATP Tour’s Asian swing and there is not much to play for for the German in the remaining tournaments.
An extended break away until January could do Zverev the world of good as he looks to finally win his first Grand Slam.
