Alex de Minaur has enjoyed a record-breaking spell at the Rotterdam Open en route to the final of the Dutch tournament.

Minaur has extended his incredible ATP 500 record by picking up victories against Arthur Fils, Stan Wawrinka, Botic van de Zandschulp, and Ugo Humbert in Rotterdam.

The Australian is looking to go one better than 2024 and 2025 by defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime to lift the trophy.

The world number eight’s Rotterdam Open campaign has now seen him match a Roger Federer record and earn an outright record at the Dutch event.

Alex de Minaur’s record-breaking Rotterdam Open run

De Minaur’s match with Ugo Humbert saw him become the first player in the tournament’s history to reach three consecutive semi-finals at the tournament since Federer between 2001 and 2005.

By securing his place in the final, de Minaur has become the first player in history to reach three finals in a row.

The Australian is yet to win the event, having lost to Jannik Sinner in 2024’s final and to Carlos Alcaraz in 2025.

He faces yet another tough test in the final this year against Auger-Aliassime, who has been imperious at indoor hardcourt events over the last year.

Auger-Aliassime has won three indoor hardcourt events since the beginning of the 2025 season, and reached the Paris Masters final.

Alex de Minaur and Felix Auger-Aliassime’s head-to-head record

Despite being stalwarts on the ATP Tour for nearly a decade, de Minaur and Auger-Aliassime have only met each other four times.

The Canadian has won three out of their four meetings, including their last match at the US Open quarter-final.

Auger-Aliassime has also won their only indoor hardcourt match, as he dispatched de Minaur in straight sets in the Davis Cup final in 2022.

The Australian’s only victory against Auger-Aliassime came at the Italian Open in 2024, where de Minaur won in three sets.

The Canadian’s only other victory against de Minaur came at the Cincinnati Open round of 32 in 2022.
