Background to the Head Graphene 360 Radical MP
With its unique combination of technology and engineering, HEAD’s new Graphene 360 Radical racquet series is built to adapt to the individual needs and preferences of the versatile all-court player.
The secret to the series’ versatility comes from the unique combination of a dynamic string pattern, a tapered beam design, and overall well-balanced specifications, which makes the series the perfect all-round weapon for all-court players. Thanks to the new Graphene 360 technology, the series also provides greater stability and optimized energy transfer resulting in more power and consequently more ball speed. In addition, a new radical design identity with asymmetrical color-blocking of eruptive orange and ash grey makes these racquets a true eye-catcher.
Graphene 360 forms the structural base of the racquet, strategically positioned in the shaft and extending into the racquet head. It strengthens the frame, providing greater stability and optimized energy transfer from racquet to ball – maximizing the power of your game.
The RADICAL MP comes with the new Graphene 360 technology as well as a dynamic 16/19 string pattern for enhanced playability and spin. Made for the all-court tour player who needs the perfect combination of power and handling.
Slightly lighter than the Radical Pro, its bigger tour brother, the RADICAL MP is designed for the all-court tournament player. The most versatile racquet of the series also features a dynamic 16/19 string pattern for enhanced playability and spin. With a new asymmetric design that represents the silo’s versatility, the RADICAL MP also provides the perfect combination of power and handling so from now on there’s no shot you can’t play.
The play test
After hitting with the racket this is what our advanced play tester had to say: “I’ve used Head before, spending six years with the Speed range used by Djokovic. For me it was a little stiff, I wasn’t quite able to harness the power or control that I wanted compared to the Speed. This to me was a pretty dense frame. It’s designed for someone with pretty flawless timing, if you connected right or even early, this was a very good racket. Otherwise there wasn’t much leeway, it could have gone anywhere!”
This certainly isn’t a racket for the counterpunchers out there.
The Radical, with this eye-catching fresh paint job, is a lively option for those who canvass the net and look to close off the point quickly. On the serve there are plenty of cheap points to be won, those who are able to manoeuvre the racket at pace to send opponents immediately onto the back foot.
