A year to remember: Roger’s SABR
The 2015 US hard court stretch will long be remembered for the SABR – Stealth Attack By Roger Federer.
The super- aggressive hit-and-charge return of serve tactics from Federer – which came about by accident during a Cincinnati practice session with Benoit Paire – became one of his most effective plays for years.
“That’s when I started to run in and hit returns,” Federer explained. “I hit a couple for a winner. They were like ridiculous. [Benoit] laughed, I laughed, Severin laughed.”
