‘He’s a boring peanut-brain who brings zero to tennis’ – Nick Kyrgios goes on attack in Twitter spat


Nick Kyrgios is refusing to allow Borna Coric get the last word in their Adria Tour spat, telling the Croatian he is a ‘boring peanut-brain who brings zero to tennis’.

The duo have been at loggerheads for a few days over Kyrgios’ criticisms of the behaviour of players on the Adria Tour, which he considered irresponsible.

Coric was among the players who tested positive for coronavirus after they were pictured partying together, and Coric took exception to being lectured on morality by notorious bad-boy Kyrgios.

“Really, Nick Kyrgios?” Coric asked on Twitter. “You’re preaching about behaviour?? Bored much or too much [wine]?”

Perhaps predictably, though, the Australian was in no mood to back down.

“Again, joking about a global pandemic,” Kyrgios replied to Coric.

“Shows your maturity level champion. Gonna be good to see you next, see if that peanut of a brain has grown.

“But yes, a tad bored watching your boring ass tennis and personality bringing absolutely zero to the sport.

Kyrgios also later replied to a tweet from New York Times journalist Ben Rothenberg, who quoted him and Coric with the comment ‘there was a time the WTA Tour was considered the one with the drama.’

“There was also a time where people had brains,” Kyrgios responded.

“Comparing on court behaviour to putting lives at risk… it’s embarrassing.”
