“Play FIFA so people actually watch” Nick Kyrgios slams virtual Madrid Open plans


Nick Kyrgios is a keen gamer in his spare time and has now made his feelings known about the potential for the online version of this year’s Madrid Open to attract any watching fans

 

14 of the ATP’s top players including Rafa Nadal and Andy Murray have all agreed to compete in a computer game version of the 2020 Madrid Open but one notable absentee is keen gamer Nick Kyrgios, and now it seems that he’s unlikely to sign up as the tournament format isn’t to his liking.

Kyrgios has posted on Twitter that the players should compete using more popular online games such as Call of Duty or Fortnite if the tournament and ATP Tour want to attract a young audience.

Kyrgios posted on his person Twitter account following a call out from the ATP Tour on who fans would like to see filling the last 2 spots in the 16 player line up. Kyrgios said: “Play CALL OF DUTY OR FORTNITE SO PEOPLE ACTUALLY WATCH OR FIFA”
