Nick Kyrgios reignites feud with Stan Wawrinka after Indian Wells match
Nick Kyrgios has weighed in on the altercation between Stan Wawrinka and Holger Rune after their match at Indian Wells, reigniting an eight year feud with the Swiss.
Wawrinka and Rune had met on one previous occasion before their clash in Indian Wells, with the Danish winning on his way to his first ATP Masters 1000 title.
However, that was not the main talking point with Wawrinka telling the 19-year-old to ‘stop acting like a baby’ after the match.

This time, in the third round of Indian Wells, the tables were turned with the veteran Wawrinka getting the victory and Rune making a comment at the net.
“You’ve got nothing to say now?” a smiling Rune asked Wawrinka.
“Huh?” Wawrinka replied.
“You’ve got nothing to say now?” Rune asked again.
“What do you want me to say?” responded Wawrinka, as both players shook the umpire’s hand and walked away.

Following the exchange of words, Wimbledon finalist Kyrgios had his say in an Instagram story.
He wrote: “Hahahaha yeah all good when you win… typical. Holger Rune with you my brother.”
This is not the first time the Australian has gone against Wawrinka, with there being reports that the two had been separated in the locker room at the 2015 Canadian Open.
The three-time Grand Slam champion, Wawrinka, was apparently irritated by Kyrgios’ behaviour during the match and expressed that to him leading to the bust up.
He wrote on Twitter at the time, “So disappointing to see a fellow athlete and colleague be so disrespectful in a way I could never even imagine.”

Wawrinka added, “What was said I wouldn’t say to my worst enemy. To stoop so low is not only unacceptable but also beyond belief.”
Kyrgios is currently on the sidelines after recovering from knee surgery surgery, and will miss the sunshine double in both Indian Wells and Miami.
However, the Swiss moves onto the fourth round of Indian Wells, for the first time since reaching the final in 2017, where he will play Jannik Sinner in a rematch from Rotterdam last month.
Sinner won that match to level up the head-to-head at two apiece, and both will be looking for a third win later today.
