You may have given up hope of ever winning Wimbledon, but that shouldn’t stop you wanting to play competitive tennis. There’s nothing more demoralising than turning up for a tournament, only to be beaten 6-0 6-0 in the first round. Equally, it’s not really doing much for your game if you beat an opponent without breaking a sweat.

Cue drawforall, a new nationwide tournament circuit with a progressive draw format that guarantees you will play competitive singles against players of a similar rating.

The brainchild of Jeremy Dier, a former professional, it has the backing of the LTA and is based on the Volkswagen Ratings tournaments of the 1980s.

With tournaments being held across the country, entrants are guaranteed two matches; first round losers will be automatically placed in a consolation draw.

For your £15 entry fee, every match will be played with three new Dunlop balls and the loser gets to keep the balls.

Tournaments are open to everyone over the age of 15 with an LTA rating.
