It can be easy to rush into buying a bat especially one that may not be entirely suitable for your needs. tennishead has therefore tested a plethora of rackets from improver, intermediate and advanced level categories to give you a better understanding of the current bats in the market.

How we test them
When testing each category or racket (improver, intermediate and advanced), we selected a batch of suitable players to critique the rackets (including ourselves). We then formed a review of the racket from our testers comments

Playing level categories explained

Improver
Designed for improvers and recreational players who are quite new to the game or have returned to tennis after a long break. This category of racket is also suitable for older players who have less physical strength.

Intermediate
Aimed at the club-standard player who is no longer a beginner but not yet a pro. The larger head sizes provide a greater sweetspot and the moderate weight makes the racket more comfortable to use.

Advanced
Tournament and performance frames play best when used by highly skilled and physically fit players who have the ability to generate a fast racket swing speed through the ball.
