Novak Djokovic still ‘has a huge hunger’ for titles
Novak Djokovic warned his competitors that he is still eager for titles after winning his record equalling sixth World Tour Finals title on Sunday.
Djokovic, the 21 time Grand Slam champion, defeated Casper Ruud 7-5 6-3 to join his great rival Roger Federer on six titles at the end of year event. After the match, the Serbian revealed that he still is motivated for more success in the future.
‘’I don’t know what the future holds, but I know that what I hold in my mind is a huge hunger still to win trophies,’’ Djokovic said in his post match press conference.
‘’I have a lot of motivational factors, and I don’t lack any motivation for the moment. Of course, we all have bad days or bad weeks. But generally, the feeling is still there.’’
The Serbian was delighted with his form in the autumn swing, having won titles in Tel Aviv and Astana, while also making the final of the Masters 1000 in Paris, alluding to his success in indoor tournaments.
‘’I had an amazing finish to the season with most of the tournaments that I played indoors I won, indoors has been historically very successful for me’’ Djokovic said.
Novak Djokovic ends his season with a 42-7 record and moves up to number 5 in the world rankings. He will be able to play in the Australian Open in January after he was granted a visa.
This gives him the opportunity to win a tenth Australian Open and a 22nd Grand Slam title, which would pull him level with Rafael Nadal.
