Kyrgios now faces fellow Aussie Alex de Minaur in round three
Kyrgios signed off by wishing the best to his mother who is currently ill in hospital back in Australian and has obviously been on her son’s mind.
Kyrgios even managed a succesful underarm serve point with Medvedev at times looking like he didn’t have an answer or a plan to deal with such an in form unpredictable opponent. He’ll need to get his game back on top form if he’s to be in with a chance of repeating his heroics from the US open last year where he stopped Novak Djokovic from claiming the calendar Slam in the final.
