Novak Djokovic ‘wants to win 30 majors,’ says coach Goran Ivanisevic
Novak Djokovic wants to win nine more majors before he retires in five years, says coach Goran Ivanisevic.
Djokovic is 35 years old now, although he looked as fit and as good as ever as he won Wimbledon last month.
That was his 21st Grand Slam title, but he is apparently nowhere near ready to start winding down his ambitions now.
โI spoke with Djokovic the first time we met when he was nine years old,” Ivanisevic told Hina.
“It wasn’t until he was thirteen that we started working together. Now we have been collaborating for 18, which is a very long period.
“He repeated every time his desire to reach 30 Grand Slams, that’s what Djokovic wants.
“He will play the next five years and he will have a chance to get that milestone.”
If Novak Djokovic has five years left in him, that will certainly give him an advantage over Rafael Nadal.

The Spaniard currently leads the way in the Grand Slam race, but his body appears to be struggling to cope this season despite winning two of the three majors.
Ivanisevic, though, believes that it always looked likely that the GOAT race would come down to Djokovic and Nadal.
“Even before I became Nole’s coach, I said that, together with Nadal, they would end up earning more than Federer,” Ivanisevic said. “If they are healthy, they have no limits. I think they will continue to win.”
