The 23-year-old was named in the squad by captain Albert Costa along with Fernando Verdasco, David Ferrer and Feliciano Lopez.

Nadal has not played for his country since winning two matches in their first-round victory over Serbia in March, while he missed last year’s final with knee problems.

The Czechs are looking for their first Davis Cup title since 1980 but will be the underdogs for the clash on indoor clay, which begins on December 4 at Barcelona’s Palau Sant Jordi.
