Gasquet blows away Tsonga

Gasquet barely got a look-in in a first set dominated by his second-seeded French compatriot, but responded brilliantly to triumph 1-6 6-4 6-2.

The 22-year-old will face Radek Stepanek in the semis after the eighth-seeded Czech also battled back well to overcome Sweden’s Robin Soderling 2-6 6-4 6-3.

The other last-four encounter will be between Spanish third seed Fernando Verdasco and unseeded Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu, who both advanced on Thursday.
