Nadal pulls out of doubles

The Spaniard had been due to partner compatriot Carlos Moya in the second round of the doubles against fourth seeds Mahesh Bhupathi and Mark Knowles on Wednesday afternoon, but he withdrew from that match due to slight pain in the lumbar and upper leg region.

Nadal is intending to continue in the singles competition though, where the world number one will face 15th seed Richard Gasquet in the third round.
