Robson reaches semi-finals

Robson took just an hour and three minutes to defeat Obziler, the world number 137, breaking the 35-year-old opponent’s serve three times.

The 14-year-old is the lone British player remaining in the draw following defeats for Elena Baltacha and Katie O’Brien earlier in the tournament.

Robson said: “I am very pleased with the way I played.

“My coach Martijn Bok and I talked through the game plan before I went on and it obviously worked.

“Tomorrow (Saturday) will be a tough match and I am looking forward to it.”
