Mexican Open 2021 ATP Preview


The 2021 Mexican Open – an ATP 500 tournament which features a strong draw – will run from March 15 – 20. 

After being introduced in 1993, the event was primarily held in Mexico City until moving to Acapulco in 2001 – where it has remained since. In 2014, the surface changed from clay to hard courts.

Thomas Muster and David Ferrer both hold the record for the most Mexican Open titles with four. Rafael Nadal has won the tournament three times – including last year when he defeated Taylor Fritz in the final.

 

Neither Nadal or Fritz will feature this year, but the draw includes seven of the top 20 ATP players.
