Rafael Nadal doubts over Olympic participation

Australian Open admits top players like Djokovic & Nadal are “going to get a better deal”

Craig Tiley has finally let slip that the better your ranking then the better the quarantine treatment you will receive, which includes stars like Novak Djokovic and Rafa Nadal who are currently enjoying more favourable conditions in a different city to the rest of the Australian Open field

There has been considerable unrest and in some cases mutiny from certain players that are having to endure a hard lockdown in their hotel rooms thanks to positive COVID cases on the flights they arrived on to Australia. This has caused the Australian Open Tournament Director, Craig Tiley, to come under considerable pressure to explain why a chosen few top stars have been allowed to quarantine in Adelaide rather than Melbourne where they have bigger hotels rooms and a more open system for practise.

Tiley said, “I get the feeling it is perceived as preferential treatment,”

“But they’re the top players in the world. My general rule is if you’re at the top of the game, a Grand Slam champion, it’s just the nature of the business. You are going to get a better deal.”
