Venus Williams will play doubles when she returns to the French Open, but is unlikely to play singles.

The 45-year-old sits 458th in the WTA singles rankings; therefore, unless she receives a last-minute wild card, she won’t challenge for the Suzanne-Lenglen Cup this year.

It’s the end of the 2026 season… How many matches has Venus Williams won this year? Where is she ranked? Let us know in the comments👇

Williams will, however, have a shot at doubles glory, entering the main draw via her ranking.

But who will her French Open doubles partner be?

Williams has struggled in singles and doubles this year, but did secure her first doubles win of the season last time out at the Madrid Open with British star Katie Boulter.

Whether she can add to her tally alongside Baptiste remains to be seen.

Many questioned whether Williams would skip the French Open altogether when she wasn’t given a wild card, having last played the event five years ago.

On that occasion, Williams entered the singles and doubles competitions, where she failed to win a match.

Roland Garros is statistically Williams’ weakest Grand Slam in singles.
