When Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner burst onto the scene, tennis fans heralded their arrival.

After all, they arrived at the perfect time for the ATP Tour, which was starting to lose the three biggest stars of all time.

However, few would have predicted them to establish a two-man dominance so swiftly, having now won all of the last nine Grand Slam titles between them.

This has led many supporters of the sport to now wonder who will be next to challenge them, and back in 2024, Martina Navratilova had a theory.

Martina Navratilova’s bold 2024 Jack Draper prediction

Speaking to Sky Sports after Jack Draper’s run to the US Open semi-finals, the 18-time Grand Slam singles champion was certain that the Brit was destined for greatness.

In fact, she would even make a bold prediction ahead of the 2025 season, insisting that, if fit, he would compete for all four majors.

Jack Draper is the ATP’s best bet at unsettling Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner’s dominance – prove us wrong…

Sadly, following Roland Garros, his campaign was curtailed by injuries. Before that, he had reached the fourth round in both Melbourne and Paris though.

Navratilova had claimed: “Next year, if he stays healthy, Jack will be in the conversation in every major. That’s a really big plus.

“If he keeps playing like this the sky is the limit.”

Sadly, he has yet to find enough consistent fitness to truly trouble Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner just yet.

What is the latest on Jack Draper’s fitness?

Having picked up an injury to his serving arm, Draper was forced to withdraw from the US Open after winning in the first round.

This marked his only match of the 2025 summer after losing early in Wimbledon, before he subsequently shut down his season.

Fortunately, there have been signs of a career revival this year, having made the wise decision to skip the Australian Open.

He returned at the Davis Cup earlier this month, winning comfortably against Viktor Durasovic before opting to take another break.

Great Britain’s Davis Cup captain offered an update on Draper’s fitness, before the man himself admitted: “It’s really good to play here in Oslo and have my first match in a long time.

“To get a point on the board for Great Britain. I haven’t played Davis Cup in a long time so it’s good to be out here and I’m proud of my performance today.”
