Carlos Alcaraz has now etched his name into tennis history after completing the career Grand Slam at the Australian Open.
Alcaraz thinks he knows when he will retire from tennis following his latest achievement, which has helped him retain his ATP number one ranking.
He beat Novak Djokovic in the final of the Australian Open, having previously failed to make it beyond the quarterfinals of the hard-court Grand Slam.
Alcaraz has already withdrawn from Rotterdam in a bid to recover from his lengthy run in Melbourne, which ended with a seventh career Grand Slam title.
Do you believe Carlos Alcaraz is already the greatest tennis player of all time?

Of course, along with the iconic silverware, Alcaraz received a significant financial reward for his efforts on the court.
He now boasts total career earnings of $62,803,831, which means he is ranked in fifth place in the ATP all-time money list.
Alcaraz has already earned $2,771,785 in the 2026 season, in which the world number one has a 7-0 win-loss record.
He’s also now among an exclusive group of career Grand Slam champions, with Alcaraz the youngest of the nine men to achieve the phenomenal feat.

Remarkably, Alcaraz is behind only the Big Three of men’s tennis and their fellow legend Andy Murray in the all-time money list.
That is despite the Spaniard being only 22 years old, which simply epitomises just how special he has been with a racket in his hand.

He was certainly pushed hard by Djokovic at the Australian Open, but Alcaraz proved his class and indeed mental strength by coming back to win 2-6, 6-2, 6-3, 7-5.
And worryingly for the rest of the ATP Tour, he has now won seven of his eight Grand Slam finals, losing only to Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon last year.
Sinner is seventh in the career money list thanks to his tremendous success, with Alexander Zverev currently splitting the two ATP superstars in sixth.

But they are all well behind Djokovic, who has just extended his commanding lead at the top following his run in Melbourne.
