Jannik Sinner added another Grand Slam title to his collection on Sunday.

The Italian now has five major titles to his name after beating Alexander Zverev 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 6-4 in the Wimbledon Men’s Singles final.

Who do you think is more likely to win another Grand Slam out of Novak Djokovic & Alexander Zverev? 🤔

It was Sinner’s second Wimbledon title – he won his first in 2025 after beating Carlos Alcaraz in the showpiece event.

The Italian superstar will now shift his attention to the North American hard-court swing, which is scheduled to start later this month.

Winning Wimbledon has now given the 24-year-old the opportunity to achieve a feat very few have managed before.

Jannik Sinner can become the first man to win the Wimbledon-US Open double in eight years

No man has won Wimbledon and the US Open in the same year since Novak Djokovic in 2018.

Djokovic, widely considered to be the greatest male player in tennis history, won his fifth Wimbledon title after beating South Africa’s Kevin Anderson 6-2, 6-2, 7-6 in the final.

Two months later, Djokovic lifted the US Open trophy for a third time after defeating Juan Martin del Potro.

It was the third time Djokovic had won Wimbledon and the US Open in the same year, following 2011 and 2015.

Sinner now has the opportunity to emulate Djokovic’s feat when he arrives in New York later this year.

The Italian will be the overwhelming favourite to win a second US Open title, particularly due to the uncertain physical status of Carlos Alcaraz.

Jannik Sinner’s record at Grand Slam events this year

Jannik Sinner responds when asked if winning Wimbledon was a ‘relief’

“I don’t think it’s relief, to be honest,” Sinner said during his post-match press conference after beating Zverev on Sunday.

“The only thing I’m very happy is that I’m trying to do my best every day. Sometimes you have a tournament with a good outcome, and sometimes you just don’t have. There’s nothing you can really do about.

“There is no failure if you don’t win a Grand Slam. It’s very, very rare days. Now I have five in my whole life. We talk about five Grand Slams. But end of the day, it’s five days of so many other days.

“You just want to enjoy it. Today was a very tough day. If I lose, it’s still a great day. Playing a Grand Slam final, it’s so rare and so special.

“So for me, I never take things for granted. Of course, if I choose, I choose this outcome, but at the end of the day, it’s always two players.

“Big, big respect to Sascha, because he’s doing something amazing,” Sinner continued. “His game is growing and growing. In the same time, that’s exactly what’s good, because you have always someone who is pushing you to the limit.

“We hope that Carlos is coming back, as well, because tennis needs him.

“Having Novak still around, having all the young players coming, it’s really, really nice.”
