Victoria Mboko enjoyed a breakthrough season on the WTA Tour, which included two tournament victories.
The star achieved a landmark win at her home Masters event by lifting the Canadian Open and she followed it up with a Hong Kong Open win at the end of the season.
Mboko was awarded WTA Newcomer of the Year for a season which saw her end the year as the world number 18.
Big things are expected of Mboko in 2026 and Greg Rusedski has shared some ‘inside information’ he’s received on the star.

Victoria Mboko said to be ‘unbelievable’ in training ahead of the Australian Open
Rusedski is friends with two members of Mboko’s team and he has shared what he has been told during the off-season.
“So she has a phenomenal set up as a team and last year she beat Naomi Osaka in the finals of Montreal, backed it up at the end of the year by winning another title in Hong Kong.
Do you think women should play best-of-five set matches?
“I hear that the work ethic is unbelievable. She is putting in the hours off court and on court. She has great expertise around her. She is not happy being 18 in the world at 19 years of age. She is the real deal.”
Rusedski is expecting big things from the Canadian in 2026 and he made a bold prediction about how she would fare at the Grand Slams.
“To me she is cracking in the top 10 or top five. She is going to be threatening to go deep at the majors. Is she quite ready to win a major? Possibly not. I go 2027 when she wins her first major but she is going to be knocking on the door. She is that good.”
Mboko has won just three Grand Slam matches in her career, with her best performance coming at Roland Garros in 2025.
The teenager reached the third round of the French Grand Slam, after beating Eva Lys and Zheng Qinwen as a qualifier.
