Andy Murray offered up his thoughts about one aspect of Sinner’s game, which would soon be lauded after defeating him at the Stockholm Open in 2021.
Murray and Sinner met on the ATP Tour on two occasions, with a third match being decided thanks to a walkover.
Their first meeting came at the Stockholm Open and it went the way of Murray in straight sets against the future World No. 1.
It was only Murray’s second win of the year against a top 10 player and he was sure to highlight what he found impressive about Sinner’s game.

Murray came through a narrow match with Sinner in the round of 16 at the Stockholm Open to continue his comeback from hip surgery.
The star described playing Sinner as ‘very tough’ in his on-court interview, before praising the star’s hitting from the back of the court.
“He hits the ball huge from the back of the court so there were a lot of long rallies and a lot of running,” revealed Murray.
“It’s probably my best win this season. I want to keep it going now. I’m playing at the top level and I’m winning matches against the best players in the world,” the Scot added.
“The ones that I’m losing, I’m pushing the best players in the world. That argument is finished. I can compete at the top level.”
Murray would lose his next round match against Tommy Paul, with the American going on to win the whole tournament.
