“Welcome back” Rafa Nadal makes significant change to 2021 tournament schedule

World no.2 Rafa Nadal has made a change to his usual tournament schedule of recent years and will now appear at the indoor ABN AMRO tournament in Rotterdam during the first week of March

The schedule change was announced by the tournament itself and backed up by the Tournament Direct Richard Krajiceck, himself a past Wimbledon champion.

Nadal last played at the tournament in 2009 where he made it to the final only to lose to Britain’s Andy Murray in 3 sets in an injury plagued match.

Nadal is currently in Adelaide preparing for the first Slam of the year at the Australian Open.
