Victoria Mboko ended her terrific season with yet another WTA-level win, and it’s had a ripple effect on Alexandra Eala.
Mboko defeated Eala in Hong Kong on her route to the WTA final and she continued her winning ways against Cristina Bucșa.
Mboko’s win takes her up to World No. 33 in the rankings after an extraordinary year that also saw her capture her first Masters title at the Canadian Open.
The Canadian’s victory in Hong Kong has not only given Mboko a rankings boost, but it’s also confirmed a milestone for Eala.

Alexandra Eala’s milestone after Victoria Mboko’s win in Hong Kong
Mboko’s brilliant season continued with a three-set victory against Bucsa landing her a second WTA-level tournament of 2025.
The victory keeps Bucsa out of the WTA Tour top 50, which also confirms a milestone for Eala, who is also enjoying her breakout season.
Eala is now confirmed to enter the top 50 of the WTA rankings for the first time in her career, and she’ll enter 2026 with that very ranking.
The new World No. 50 has impressed on the WTA Tour this season, which has included a Miami Open semi-final and an Eastbourne Open final.
The star is yet to win a WTA-level tournament in her career, but she did capture a 125 in Guadalajara in September.
Victoria Mboko and Alexandra Eala can thrive in 2026
The WTA Tour has shown glimpses of several rising stars in 2025 who look to take tennis by storm next year.
Mboko has already proved that she can win a Masters event, and her next big goal will be aiming for impressive performances at a Grand Slam.
As for Eala, the star will be aiming for her first WTA-level tournament in 2026, which is an extremely possible goal for the Filipino.
Mboko and Eala have all the tools and attributes to crack into the top 20 in 2026, just like Mirra Andreeva managed this year.
