Mboko, who has been tipped to become World No. 1, will enter the top 10 of the rankings for the first time if she reaches the final in Qatar.
The star’s victory against Rybakina in the quarter-final earned her a Qatar Open record that has never been achieved before.

The star will now play Jelena Ostapenko in the Qatar Open semi-finals, a player she is yet to face on the WTA Tour.
With the draw as open as it has become, Mboko has a real chance to win her third WTA title in six months.
Sakkari and Karolina Muchova will play out the other side of the draw in the semi-finals of the Qatar Open.

Do you think women should play best-of-five set matches?
Mboko was also dismantled by Andreeva in the final of the Adelaide International, where the Canadian managed to win just four games against the Russian.
She was also defeated by Aryna Sabalenka in the last 16 of the Australian Open. Mboko struggled with the world number one in the first set, losing 6-1, but she made life more difficult in the second set.
She forced a tie-break with Sabalenka, which she lost, to confirm her exit from the first Grand Slam of the year.
