So, it only makes sense that almost everyone seems to be rallying for Venus Williams and Serena Williams to give the sporting world what they want and play doubles together at the US Open.
Venus Williams makes big claim about playing with Serena Williams at the US Open
Interestingly, Venus has been discussing this very topic ahead of her return to action at the Washington Open.
Set to play both singles and doubles in the coming days, the American superstar was brief when speaking about her sister.

However, her words were very notable.
On a potential US Open reunion, she revealed: “We would love to [play the US Open together], so we’ll see what happens.”
Then, discussing Serena’s unfortunate injury at Wimbledon which prevented them from competing in the doubles at that event, Venus added: “I wonder how far we could have gone. It’s just unlucky. I would like to hopefully get lucky, how about that?”
This comes not long after Venus rated Serena’s level during her first singles match in four years at Wimbledon.

In both the singles and the doubles, the Williams sisters have a rich and longstanding relationship with the US Open.
After all, they have been champions in nearly every format available in New York, and even faced one another in the singles final on six occasions too.

Meanwhile, they also won the ladies’ doubles title twice too, in 1999 and 2009.
Overall, between them, they’ve won eight singles titles, two women’s doubles titles (the same two, won together), and one mixed doubles title. This amounts to 11 US Open titles in total across the three disciplines, or 13 if you count the shared doubles title once for each sister.
