Venus Williams lost her 10th consecutive WTA Tour singles match on Tuesday.
The 45-year-old, who made her return to the Tour at the 2025 Washington Open last July, has struggled for positive results since stunning Peyton Stearns in her first match on return.
On Tuesday, Williams was again defeated – this time by world number 140 Kaitlin Quevedo.

Following the 2-6, 4-6 loss to the Spanish youngster, Venus will embark on her women’s doubles campaign in Madrid.
Venus, who has played doubles alongside the likes of Leylah Fernandez and Peyton Stearns since her return, is set to team up with a British star in the Spanish capital.
Venus Williams will play Madrid Open doubles with Katie Boulter
Williams, a 16-time Grand Slam champion in doubles events, is set to play with world number 61 Katie Boulter in the Madrid Open Women’s Doubles event.
Boulter, the world number 61 in singles, last played doubles at the 2025 US Open.

Alongside compatriot Sonay Kartal, Boulter reached the second round before losing to 12th seeds Ekaterina Alexandrova and Zhang Shuai.
Seven months later and Boulter will be teaming up with Venus Williams, a former world number one in singles and doubles.
In the first round, Boulter and Williams will play Chinese pair Xinyu Jiang and Yifan Xu.
If the British-American pair advance, they will face either Su-Wei Hsieh and Sofia Kenin or Tereza Mihalikova or Olivia Nicholls in the second round.
Speaking ahead of their doubles campaign, Venus revealed how her partnership with Boulter came about.

As per journalist Jose Morgado, Venus said: “She asked me to play. I’m looking forward. She has great attitude and energy”.
Boulter and Venus are set to play their first-round match on Thursday.
Alex Eala’s doubles partner is confirmed
Another notable name in the Madrid Open Women’s Doubles draw is Alex Eala, who has become a sensation on the WTA Tour ever since her breakthrough campaign at the 2025 Miami Open.
Eala is set to team up with fellow youngster Zeynep Sonmez for the doubles event in Madrid.

In the first round, the pair will play Hao-Ching Chan and Fanny Stollar. If the youngsters advance, they could face second seeds Katerina Siniakova and Taylor Townsend in the second round.
If Eala and Sonmez advance further, they would likely play Anna Danilina and Asia Muhammad in the third round.
Some other notable names are also taking part in the doubles event.
Coco Gauff is set to play with compatriot Robin Montgomery, while Mirra Andreeva will compete alongside Diana Shnaider.
