Venus Williams has finally emerged on social media after exiting the US Open, reflecting on her return to Grand Slam tennis.

It was a magical tournament for the legendary 45-year-old, who once again proved that her star power is unrivalled.

After all, having exited in the first round of the singles draw, losing a three-set battle to Karolina Muchova, she then swiftly translated her talents to the doubles.

There, alongside Leylah Fernandez, Williams thrived as they stormed into the quarter-finals, defeating two seeded pairs on the way.

Wherever she went, the US Open crowds followed, and she has naturally paid homage to that support in her first social media post since the tournament concluded.

Taking to X, she wrote a brief message accompanied by a video that summed up her stunning tournament.

In that one-and-a-half-minute segment, it detailed highlights and key quotes from herself and her peers, with Reilly Opelka and Fernandez two notable names who appeared to praise the seven-time Grand Slam singles champion.

Then, in her own message, Venus wrote: “Leveling up with every match and feeling the love all around. An unforgettable @usopen—it’s always an honor to compete here”.

She admitted that her level has improved exponentially since she returned to the tour in DC, having played three different tournaments over the summer.

Her last match before returning to Washington had come in March of 2024.

What Venus Williams said about her 2025 US Open experience

Williams was ever-present throughout the tournament, despite the bulk of her experience coming in the doubles draw.

After all, the press could not get enough of her, and win or lose, they continued to request her presence in the media room.

At one conference, Venus Williams revealed the similarities between herself and Fernandez.

At another, Venus then spoke openly about the controversy involving Jelena Ostapenko and Taylor Townsend.

However, it was after her quarter-final loss in the US Open ladies’ doubles that she delivered her final thoughts on a magical few weeks: “I think that it’s all great feedback. But I had a lot of chances to play a lot of matches here, which is what I would desperately need to get better. I saw myself improving so much with every match I was playing. In a lot of ways, we just ran out of time.

“I wish I could have played better today for Leylah. I blame myself for a lot of it. I just wasn’t there. We played a great team. They have been playing together for years. They’ve had a lot of success. They just had a little bit more time to pull it all together than we did.”
