Venus Williams’ return to tennis will continue at the Miami Open, and she is set to play doubles as well as singles in Florida.
The American icon is yet to pick up a victory this year, having suffered first round defeats at the Australian Open and Indian Wells.
Williams’ legitimacy for wild cards has been questioned due to her poor form, but high-profile tournaments continue to give her instant access into main draws.
She has received similar at the Miami Open, where she will play first round matches in both singles and doubles.

Williams is set for a match against Britain’s Fran Jones in the singles, a player she practiced with ahead of Indian Wells.
The American has also received a wild card for the Miami Open doubles and she will yet again pair with Leylah Fernandez.

Williams and Fernandez played doubles at the US Open in 2025, where they enjoyed an impressive run to the quarter-finals.
The North American pair defeated Ekaterina Alexandrova and Zhang Shuai, Ulrikke Eikeri and Eri Hozumi and Ellen Perez and Lyudmyla Kichenok at the New York Grand Slam.
Their run was ended by Kateřina Siniaková and Taylor Townsend, who went on to reach the final at Flushing Meadows.
Williams will be hoping for a similar run in Miami to kickstart her faltering return to tennis.
Venus Williams’ high-profile doubles partners in 2026
Williams has played plenty of doubles in 2026 alongside her return to singles as her search for a win continues.
The American has partnered with Elina Svitolina, Ekaterina Alexandrova, and Peyton Stearns so far this season.
