UTS Rio preview: Nick Kyrgios and Joao Fonseca’s first meeting, full lineup and how to watch

Patrick Mouratoglou’s Ultimate Tennis Showdown will head to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for the first time in 2026.

After Felix Auger-Aliassime won the first event of the year in Nimes, France, eight players will look to leave their mark in South America.

Many will be watching to see Joao Fonseca and Nick Kyrgios do battle for the very first time, although they aren’t the only two big names set to appear.

The action starts six hours earlier on the final day, with extra matches to be played.

How to watch UTS Rio

If you haven’t watched a UTS event before, it might be worth checking to see if you can watch it in your country or if you need to pay for a new service.

UTS Rio full lineup and matches

A total of five top-50 players are set to compete in Rio this week.

Brazilian fans will be excited to see their biggest star, Fonseca, compete on home soil, and will also be keen to watch another young prospect, Guto Miguel, take centre stage.

Miguel, 17, won the junior French Open title earlier this year and is one of the top prospects in Brazilian tennis.

The youngster will have an opportunity to test himself against elite opposition at UTS Rio.

All eight players have been placed in one group, and they will each play two matches.

The four players with the most points will advance to the semi-finals, and from there it’s a straightforward single elimination event.

There will, however, be classification matches for the players who don’t qualify for the semi-finals on the final day.
