Ultimate Tennis Showdown returns with top stars confirmed and a new court surface

The Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) will return for a second season – with three top 20 players set to feature in the first event of the year.

Three editions of the innovative tennis league were held during the first season in 2020.

Stefanos Tsitsipas, Gael Monfils, Fabio Fognini, Alexander Bublik and Corentin Moutet have all been confirmed for the 2021 opener – UTS4. Three other players are yet to be revealed.

It will run from April 5-7 at the Mouratoglou Academy in France and will be the first UTS event to be played on clay.

The second season of Ultimate Tennis Showdown will also see the introduction of ‘The Contenders’ League’ – which will feature eight players who will compete for a chance to face primary league contenders in a final showdown.

“2020 showed us that the revolutionary project was worth pursuing,” said event organiser Patrick Mouratoglou in a press release.

“We’ve attracted a new, younger audience, created incredible memories and experienced a wide variety of emotions from excitement, to stress, suspense, and laughter.

“Coming back with a second season of UTS was a no-brainer for 2021. We have a lot of surprises in store for the fans and we can’t wait to have them on board and to continue this tennis saga.”

A series of new rules and more information about UTS Season 2 and UTS4 will be announced soon. All matches will be livestreamed around the world for free on the UTS streaming platform.
