What’s it all about? Perhaps one last time, a chance to head to Nottingham for some top-flight pre-Wimbledon grass-court action.

When’s it happening? Main draw matches start on Monday June 16 through to finals day on Sunday June 22.

Where is it? The City of Nottingham Tennis Centre, University Boulevard, Nottingham NG7 2QH.

Why should I go there? This will be the last time the tournament forms part of the ATP calendar. Eastbourne will stage both a men’s and women’s event next year, and the Nottingham draw is making way for it. Good cafe, too.

Who can I see this year? Paul Henri-Mathieu, No.19 in the world, tops the entry list, looking to clinch his fifth ATP career title and the first in 2008.
Among those challenging him for the title will be the reigning Nottingham Open champion and world No.21, Ivo Karlovic. In 2007, the 6 10 Croat clinched the title by defeating Arnaud Clement in an epic three set final. Other potential title challengers are Radek Stepanek (22), Fernando Verdasco (23), Gilles Simon (29), Andreas Seppi (32) and Dmitry Tursunov (33). For the Brits, Alex Bogdanovic flies the flag after coming through the qualifiers.

How do I get tickets? There are two ways to book: call the box office at 0871 945 3000, or order tickets online.

What’s the weather like? We’re getting closer to Wimbledon. Read into that what you will…

Can I follow it online? Draws and results can be found online on the blog or two.

Little known fact… Nottingham was the venue of the last grass-court tournament won by a Brit – Greg Rusedski in 2003.
