Numerous WTA Tour players have called time on their 2025 season as the year draws to a close.

British star Emma Raducanu recently called time on her season after struggling mightily with her physical condition during the Asian swing.

Since then, 2023 Wimbledon champion Marketa Vondrousova and Polish player Magdalena Frech have both ended their seasons.

Another player, ranked inside the WTA top 25, has followed suit.

Karolina Muchova ends her 2025 season

World number 21 Karolina Muchova has ended her 2025 season following her exit from the Japan Open.

After defeating Marketa Vondrousova and Maya Joint, the Czech player lost 3-6, 7-5, 7-5 to eventual Japan Open champion Belinda Bencic.

On Sunday, the 2023 French Open finalist made her season-ending announcement on Instagram.

She said: “Thank you for the love Tokyo… and that’s a wrap on 2025–tough love kind of season.

“Appreciate the support, always. Now time to disappear for a minute.”

The former world number eight has played 18 tournaments in 2025, achieving her best results at the Linz Open and Dubai Championships.

Muchova has not won a WTA Tour singles title since 2019

Despite her obvious quality, Karolina Muchova has struggled to win WTA Tour events and is in the midst of a six-year title drought.

The 29-year-old has not won a WTA Tour title since capturing the Korea Open in 2019.

The Czech star has lost five WTA Tour singles finals during her career: the 2019 Prague Open, 2023 French Open, 2023 Cincinnati Open, 2024 Palermo Open and 2024 China Open.
