Tim Henman has offered Jasmine Paolini some advice following her third-straight defeat and subsequent exit at the WTA Finals.
It has been a week to forget for the affable Italian, who failed to win a single set across clashes against Aryna Sabalenka, Coco Gauff and most recently Jessica Pegula.
Naturally, losses to players of this quality are nothing to raise alarm, but it marks a disappointing end to what has been yet another really impressive campaign for the 28-year-old.
Henman, speaking live on Sky Sports, insisted there was only one thing for Jasmine Paolini to do after this early exit.
Tim Henman offers Jasmine Paolini advice after WTA Finals defeat
The British pundit claimed: “She’s always been a great competitor, the one thing you need when you’re feeling below par is rest, and she just hasn’t had any rest, because she’s been out there every day.
“Look, it’s not the way she wanted her year to finish, both on and off the court, but she’s still had a fantastic year.”
Laura Robson would echo that sentiment, whilst also providing Paolini with some comfort in the wake of three tough losses.
She added: “The nice thing is that Pegula can remind her that she went 0-6 at Fort Worth a couple of years ago, didn’t win a match in both singles and doubles, so it does get better.”
These results come just weeks after Elena Rybakina dominated Paolini in their semi-final clash in Ningbo.
Jasmine Paolini should be so proud of her 2025 season
After reaching back-to-back Grand Slam finals and winning a Masters 1000 title in 2024, many questioned whether Paolini would be able to maintain such impossible form heading into this ongoing season.
Well, her mere qualification for the WTA Finals should speak volumes for her success on that front.
Both in singles and doubles, she has thrived, with her year naturally peaking in Rome.

There, she won both the singles and doubles titles of a Masters 1000 event in her own country, and added to her national pride by helping Italy become back-to-back Billie Jean King Cup Champions too.
Elsewhere, Paolini would win Roland Garros alongside Sara Errani, and in the singles, finished the year ranked inside the top ten for a second consecutive year.
Despite these dire results, the diminutive Italian has done herself proud once again.
