Carlos Alcaraz is eyeing up a return to competitive play next month.
The seven-time major champion has been absent from the ATP Tour since injuring his right wrist at the Barcelona Open in April.
The injury has resulted in Alcaraz missing two Grand Slam events: Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

The Spaniard is set to make his long-awaited return next month, as he is on the entry list for August’s Cincinnati Open.
Alcaraz has been extremely successful on the Tour since making his debut at the Rio Open way back in 2020, winning all four Grand Slams and multiple Masters 1000 titles.
But which tournaments is Alcaraz yet to win?
Davis Cup, ATP Finals among the tournaments Carlos Alcaraz has not won
Of the most significant tournaments a male tennis player can win, there are only six that Carlos Alcaraz is yet to win.
On the ATP circuit, there are four events: Masters events in Canada, Shanghai and Paris, and the ATP Finals.
Alcaraz has never advanced past the quarter-finals in any of those Masters events. He lost to Tomas Machac in the 2024 Shanghai quarter-finals, and to Holger Rune at the same stage of the 2022 Paris Masters.
In 2023, he was beaten in the Canadian Open quarter-finals by Tommy Paul.
Alcaraz has also never won the ATP Finals – the season-ending event.
The Spaniard reached the final of the 2025 tournament, before losing to Jannik Sinner in straight sets.
Away from the ATP, there are two other high-profile events Alcaraz is yet to conquer.
Those events are the Davis Cup and Olympic Games.

Spain, a winner of six Davis Cup titles, last lifted the famous trophy in 2019.
The nation reached the Davis Cup final last year without Alcaraz’s help. They were subsequently beaten by now-three time defending champions Italy.
Alcaraz also reached the Olympic Tennis Men’s Singles final in 2024, but was beaten by Novak Djokovic, 7-6, 7-6.
What about Jannik Sinner?
Sinner, the world number one, is Carlos Alcaraz’s main rival on the ATP Tour.
The duo have combined to win 10 of the last 11 Grand Slam events – with Alexander Zverev’s 2026 Roland Garros triumph being the only exception.
Sinner has won almost every significant event tennis has to offer, including all four majors, the ATP Finals, and the Davis Cup.
However, Sinner is yet to lay claim to two high-profile titles: the Olympics and Roland Garros.
Sinner came within a point of winning the 2025 Roland Garros title, but was eventually defeated by Alcaraz in a fifth-set tiebreak.
Sinner did not compete in the 2024 Olympic Games due to illness.
