The entry list for the 2026 Australian Open has been released ahead of the first Grand Slam of the season in January.
Holger Rune has been omitted on the men’s side due to the shocking Achille injury he suffered at the Stockholm Open in October.
Danielle Collins and Ons Jabeur follow Rune out of the tournament on the women’s side due to a back injury and pregnancy, respectively.
British players once again have a respectable showing with six players already confirmed for the Australian Open main draw, including Jack Draper and Emma Raducanu.

Jack Draper and Emma Raducanu lead Great Britain at the Australian Open
There are currently six players inside the top 100 of the ATP and WTA Tour, meaning they are automatically into the 2026 Australian Open.
Draper is the highest-ranked player on either side of the tour, sitting at World No. 10 despite not playing since the US Open.
Cameron Norrie ended the season inside the top 30, meaning he will not only automatically qualify for the event but he will also gain seeded entry.
Who will win the 2026 men’s Australian Open?
That means he will not play another seed in the early stages of the tournament, which could provide him the platform to go on a deep run.
Norrie reached the quarter-finals of Wimbledon and the fourth round of Roland Garros during a stellar 2025.

On the women’s side, Sonay Kartal will be looking to build on her first round exit in 2025 while Fran Jones will play the first round of the Grand Slam for the first time since 2021.
Katie Boulter misses out on automatic qualification
Katie Boulter is, unfortunately, one of the unlucky few to just miss out on automatic qualification for the Grand Slam.
The British star is currently ranked World No. 106, meaning she missed out by just six places and will have to go through qualifying.
The star suffered a major ranking drop after a poor end to the season, particularly on the WTA Tour’s Asian swing.
Boulter ended her season early after withdrawing from the Hong Kong Open with a hip injury in November.
With Collins and Jabeur already confirmed to miss the tournament, Boulter will need a further three dropouts to gain automatic qualification.
Boulter has played the Australian Open six times in her career, but she has never qualified for the Grand Slam.
The British star has either automatically entered, or gained entry to the event through a protected ranking.
