It should be no surprise to anyone who watched Jannik Sinner serve at the Miami Open that he won the event without dropping a set.

It already feels like a long time ago since the 2025 US Open, when Sinner said he must improve his serve if he wants to challenge Carlos Alcaraz.

Since then, Sinner has taken the hardcourt season by storm and he has undoubtedly found a way to make his serve one of his biggest weapons.

Sinner was monstrous on serve in Miami and the numbers prove that he is now the best male server on the ATP Tour.

That is higher than both Roger Federer and Pete Sampras’ best-ever first serve percentage at the Masters event.

Sampras had a 64% first serve percentage during his 1997 winning campaign, while Federer achieved the same number as he lifted the trophy in 2015.

Sinner also won 94% of his games on serve, which makes him near-unbeatable across a best-of-three-set match.

The Italian’s dominance on serve helped him lift the trophy against Jiri Lehecka, particularly in the close-fought first set.

Sinner not only won 18 points in a row on his serve, but he ended the first set by winning 100% of points on his first serve.

If Sinner continues to be as powerful and accurate on his serve, it could be over for his fellow ATP Tour competitors.

Jannik Sinner’s ace count also proves the improvement in his serve

With three months of the 2026 season already gone, Sinner has clearly upped the number of aces he has hit too.

The star ended 2025 with 405 aces, which put him 19th in the list of the biggest ace hitters throughout the season.

Will Jannik Sinner overtake Carlos Alcaraz and become world number one? 🤔

If so, when will he do it?

In contrast, Sinner has already hit 232 aces and currently sits inside the top 10, above Felix Auger-Aliassime and Ben Shelton.

Sinner has already hit half of the amount of aces he hit throughout the entirety of 2025, which shows you how big a weapon it has become.

Granted, Sinner missed three months of the year in 2025 but he will more than outstrip his tally this season.
