The new WTA top 10 after the Madrid Open with ranking changes for Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek

The WTA rankings have received an update following the Madrid Open, which was won by Marta Kostyuk.

Kostyuk defeated Mirra Andreeva 6-3, 7-5 in the final of the Madrid Open, and has now broken the top 15 for the very first time as a result of her success.

She has climbed eight places to world number 15, while Hailey Baptiste has made her top 30 debut after reaching her first WTA 1000 semifinal.

Baptiste has risen seven spots to 25th, although her fellow American Coco Gauff is among the players to have fallen in the WTA rankings after the conclusion of the tournament.

Coco Gauff and Iga Swiatek change rankings after Madrid Open

Aryna Sabalenka remains the world number one in the new rankings, with her fellow superstar Elena Rybakina also unmoved at number two.

But there has been a significant change after that, with Iga Swiatek climbing one spot to third and Gauff dropping one spot to fourth.

American duo Jessica Pegula and Amanda Anisimova remain in fifth and sixth respectively, while Madrid Open runner-up Andreeva has climbed one spot to seventh.

Jasmine Paolini and Victoria Mboko are also up one place to eighth and ninth respectively, with Elina Svitolina dropping three spots to 10th.

Other notable moves include Naomi Osaka dropping one spot to 16th and Iva Jovic falling one spot to 17th.

ATP top 10 largely unchanged as Jannik Sinner wins the Madrid Open

The ATP rankings have also been updated following the Madrid Open, where Jannik Sinner lifted the trophy.

Sinner eased past Alexander Zverev in the final of the ATP Masters 1000 event, and has retained his number one ranking.

Despite missing the tournament, the injured Carlos Alcaraz stays in second place, and is followed by Zverev.

Also unmoved are Novak Djokovic, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz and Alex de Minaur, from spots four to eight respectively.

The only change in the ATP top 10 sees Daniil Medvedev rise one place to ninth, with Lorenzo Musetti dropping one spot to 10th.

Notable changes include Arthur Fils rising eight places to 17th, Cameron Norrie climbing four places to 19th, and Casper Ruud falling 10 places to 25th.

Elsewhere, young star Rafael Jodar has climbed eight places to 34th, with his fellow prodigy Alexander Blockx rising a huge 33 places to 36th.
