Jannik Sinner ended the 2025 season on a ridiculous high, as he swept four of the last five tournaments he played following his loss to Carlos Alcaraz at the US Open.

The Italian won the China Open, the Vienna Open, the Paris Masters, and the ATP Finals to claim double the number of tournaments he managed in the previous nine months of 2025.

Sinner dominated the rest of the ATP Tour and he will return to competitive action at the Australian Open in 2026.

Ahead of the brand-new season, the world number two has begun training with a two-time Grand Slam champion.

Jannik Sinner practices with Simona Halep

Sinner has already started his preparations for the new season as he looks to usurp Carlos Alcaraz as the world number one.

Sinner’s coach, Darren Cahill, took to Instagram to share a video of the Italian hitting with former world number one Simona Halep.

What is your bold prediction for the 2026 tennis season?

Halep retired in February 2025 after competing at her home tournament at the Transylvania Open against Lucia Bronzetti.

The star’s iconic career saw her sweep Roland Garros and a Wimbledon crown, as well as 22 other career titles.

Cahill worked with Halep for three years between 2016 and 2018, the period which brought a first Grand Slam.

The tournament Jannik Sinner will play before the Australian Open

Sinner’s first foray into competitive action might be the Australian Open, but he is actually set for a match with Carlos Alcaraz eight days prior.

Sinner and Alcaraz will take part in an exhibition match in South Korea in the Hyundai Card Super Match in Incheon on 10 January.

Neither man has played in the country before, and the exhibition will act as their 18th match across the ATP Tour and exhibitions.

Alcaraz and Sinner’s last exhibition match came in the final of the Six Kings Slam, which the Italian won in straight sets.
