Carlos Alcaraz has competed on the ATP Tour for five years since his initial introduction at the 2020 Rio de Janeiro Open.
In the time that has passed, the Spaniard has established himself as the man to beat on the ATP Tour, having reached the status of world number one.
The 22-year-old has also collected six Grand Slam titles, most recently at the 2025 US Open.

Back in 2020, Alcaraz had yet to establish himself on the ATP Tour. However, he did manage to collect his first ATP Tour victory on debut.
He then fell in three sets to a player now ranked 198 in the world.
Federico Coria was the first player to defeat Carlos Alcaraz on the ATP Tour
Carlos Alcaraz entered the 2020 Rio Open as a wildcard. However, he quickly dispelled any preconceived notions about his talent by defeating seventh seed Albert Ramos Vinolas, who has recently retired from the sport.
In the next round, 16-year-old Alcaraz faced Argentine player Federico Coria, who reached a career high of world number 49 in February 2023.
Coria was a qualifier at the tournament, offering Alcaraz a valuable opportunity to advance further.
However, he was unable to do so, losing to Coria 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Coria would end up losing in the next round to Chilean Cristian Garin.

Coria, now aged 33 years, is currently ranked 198 in the world.
The Argentine most recently contested an ATP Challenger event in August 2025, losing in the round of 16 to world number 244 Joel Schwaerzler.
Cristian Garin won the 2020 Rio Open
After defeating Coria in the quarter-finals, Chilean star Cristian Garin defeated 2022 Cincinnati Open champion Borna Coric in the semi-finals, 6-4, 7-5.
In the final, Garin defeated Italian qualifier Gianluca Mager, 7-6, 7-5.
This victory marked Garin’s fourth ATP Tour title, after winning tournaments in Munich, Houston and Cordoba.
However, the title held particular significance for Garin as it was his first ATP 500 title win.
He has won one more title since then, at the 2021 Santiago Open in Chile.
Garin, who is a former Wimbledon finalist and world number 17, has fallen to 108 in the world.
