Roger Federer dominated much of the tennis landscape in his career, but he only managed to win the Davis Cup on one occasion.
Federer and Wawrinka led Switzerland to Davis Cup success in 2014 after defeating France in the final at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Lille.
The Swiss superstar only played the Davis Cup sporadically, competing in 27 ties across his illustrious career.
However, Federer has previously stated that one of his worst-ever losses occurred at the tournament during the early days of his career.

Roger Federer’s devastating loss to Lleyton Hewitt at the 2003 Davis Cup
Federer and Switzerland made it through to the 2003 Davis Cup semi-finals and he played former world number one Lleyton Hewitt in a decider.
Federer looked in control for Switzerland as he raced to a two-set lead over his Australian rival in Melbourne.
However, Hewitt produced a remarkable recovery to take the next three sets and confirm Australia’s place in the finals.

Hewitt and co. continued their fine form into the finals as they swept aside Spain in Melbourne, with Hewitt beating Juan Carlos Ferrero.
The shock loss was devastating to Federer, who would not go on to win the Davis Cup for a further 11 years.
Federer described the loss as one of his ‘toughest’ of all time, and even said it affected him more than any defeat to Novak Djokovic.
Roger Federer’s intense reaction to losing to Lleyton Hewitt
Federer lost two matches in the tie with Australia after also tasting defeat in doubles alongside Marc Rosset against Wayne Arthurs and Todd Woodbridge.
Speaking to Fox Sports Australia, Federer revealed: “I still believe it was one of my toughest losses I have ever had as a player. People think losing to Novak was rough for me.
“That was nothing compared to the Lleyton loss back in 2003 because I felt I should have won so bad. Today I am not 22 years old anymore, I am 30.
“So I take losses much easier than back then. It was a very tough loss for me, but still the atmosphere was incredible for me on Rod Laver Arena. It was a privilege to be part of such a great match.”
Federer played 27 Davis Cup ties, with an impressive 40-8 record, but his loss to Hewitt is still a sore point.
