Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have dominated the Laver Cup since its inaugural event in 2017, but an unlikely player has won more points than both of them.

Federer and Nadal have played the Ryder Cup-style event four times each, amassing a total of 24 points between them.

Federer conceived the idea for the tournament ahead of its inception in 2017 and retired at the event in 2022.

Ahead of the Laver Cup returning to action in 2025, there’s a surprise American star who has more points than both Federer and Nadal.

American Jack Sock was ever-present in the Laver Cup between 2017 and 2022, playing 16 matches in the tournament.

The doubles specialist won 10 of those 16 matches, amassing a total of 20 points in his four appearances in the tournament.

The star won nine doubles matches and one singles match to become the highest-scoring American in the tournament’s history.

Only Alexander Zverev, with 21 points, has scored higher than Sock, but the American only won the tournament on one occasion in 2022.

Sock’s impressive record in the Laver Cup is even more surprising as the American is the lowest-ranked player to ever compete in the tournament.

Jack Sock holds four records in the Laver Cup

Sock’s four appearances in the Laver Cup between 2017 and 2022 earned him four records that still have not been beaten.

The American has not played the event for the last two years following his retirement in 2023, but his legacy in the tournament lives on.

Sock has still played the most matches in Laver Cup history, as well as won the most matches in doubles.

The American has also won the most matches in the tournament and won the most points in doubles matches.
